The top two finishers from Saturday’s GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, Her Emmynency (Successful Appeal) and Miss Temple City (Temple City), will likely miss this year’s Breeders’ Cup, according to their trainers. Conditioner Michael Stidham was pleased with how Her Emmynency exited her win over the weekend. “She looks good this morning,” Stidham said Sunday. “I told [jockey] Florent [Geroux] yesterday to just let her place herself and if somebody else goes for the lead, fine. She sat just off Mizz Money and it worked out perfect. She’s definitely not going to the Breeders’ Cup. Our goal is to come back with a good 4-year-old next year and hopefully one that is good enough for the Breeders’ Cup [at Santa Anita]. We might consider the [GII] Mrs. Revere [at Churchill Downs Nov. 14].”

Miss Temple City, who has run seven times this season, may be put on the bench for the rest of the year. “That may be it for the year,” explained Dave Rock, assistant to trainer Graham Motion. “There are not a lot of races left. It has been a long year.
